The Katzmaru (Katsu Maru) was an Asian trawler that sank in 1972, reached after a short boat ride out of Hout Bay harbor. She lies slightly upside down at a 45 degree angle on her starboard side and makes for a great intact wreck dive. Bring a flashlight to properly see the wide diversity of colors because of attached sponges and invertebrates.
A dive on this wreck is often combined with a glimpse on the fishing trawler the Aster as she is not more than 20 meter to the north and cannot be missed.
